Luca a wry romantic, picks up his wild younger sister Martina at the Las Vegas airport. Her first time away from home in Italy, Martina is scornful of the bars and casinos so the two drive out along the famous Route I-90 into the desert.
To provoke her overprotective brother, Martina stops to pick up a couple of hitchers, Jamie and Sean. As Martina and Jamie develop an unexpected attraction, Sean displays a violent outburst that startles them all. Luca pulls into a motel hoping to dump his now unwanted passengers.
Meanwhile the beautiful Cherie has finally left her psycho boy-friend Ray, a nightclub owner and small-time criminal, in an effort to return to her abusive ex-lover Mickey. Cherie is on the run as Ray hires the aging but still brutal gun-for-hire Ray to track her down.
Sean & Jamie have robbed a casino courier truck of 7 million dollars and Sean has killed a policeman during their escape. With a police manhunt looking for them including roadblocks along I-90, Sean and Jamie kidnap Martina and force Luca to transport the money alone to Los Angeles.....
