The Dark Knight Will Not Beat TitanicPosted by: Luke
It seems that cinema has really changed in just 10 years really. The advent of DVD has given studios huge profit and has even spawned the "sequelitis" with films like Lost Boys 2, Cube Zero and several other straight to DVD sequels. The market has changed darastically and The Dark Knight on DVD during the holidays will without a doubt be a HUGE cash cow that they cannot avoid. This of course means that they will have to slowly cut off the theatrical run of the film. It is now said to be on track of making something between $500-530 million. Only time will tell whether this is really something Warner Bros will do. Will they go for the cash or the distinction of having the highest grossing film of all time? My guess is the cash.
