According to PKN Orlen at that time, the Polish company AB Industry became the contractor for the investment in Trzebinia, where the cost of building a lactic acid plant was estimated at PLN 7.5 million.
In 2017, Orlen Południe received PLN 2.38 million in funding from the INNOCHEM Sector Program of the National Research and Development Center for the implementation of the project “Development of the biotechnology conversion of raw materials of organic origin into lactic acid using microorganisms”.
