After regulation time in the confrontation for the UEFA Super Cup, Manchester City tied with Sevilla 1: 1, but in the penalty shootout the compatriots were better (5: 4) and won the Cup in Greece.

The Super Cup meeting was very interesting, and his favorite seemed to be the winner of the last edition of the Champions League, that is, Manchester.

And the beginning of the rivalry belonged to The Citizens, who put a lot of pressure on the competitor. Cole Palmer, Nathan Acke and Jack Grealish all fired serious shots, but Yassine Bono didn’t let himself be surprised.

When it seemed that Pep Guardiola’s players’ goal was in the air, Sevilla took the lead in the 25th minute of the match. Then world champion Marcos Acuna sent in a fine cross from the left wing, and Youssef En-Nesyri accurately headed it in.

Later, before the break, the Andalusians mainly focused on defense and focused on playing from counter-attacks, but the score on the light board did not change.

At the beginning of the second part of the fight, the Spanish team could score a second blow, but Nusairi lost a one-on-one duel with Ederson.

That missed opportunity backfired on Sevilla in the 63rd minute when the England champions equalized. Rodri threw the ball over Cole Palmer’s head, and Cole Palmer kicked it past Bono.

The Europa League winner could have responded quickly and regained the lead, but Youssef En-Nesyri missed another great chance.

Manchester players fought for victory in regular time, but they failed to surprise Yassine Bounou and everything would have been decided in a penalty shootout.

In the series “11 seconds”, the players took turns shooting into the net until Nemanja Gudelei approached the ball and missed (hit the crossbar), thanks to which Manchester City won the European Super Cup.
