Świątek and Hurkacz are back in the game. They will be on one team

Świętek and Hurkač had a few weeks of rest. They will return to action on Thursday in the tournament, which will be held at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Before the Poles took to the court, they took a photo together, which Świątek posted on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

“Just before the start of the WTL tournament, with only one Hubert Hurkacz,” our tennis player wrote in English. “Right before WTL with Hubi!” – she added in Polish. In the photo, Świątek was holding a mascot of comic book heroine Wonder Woman.

The Hawks team is called (Jastrzebie) and includes the Polish-French duo Caroline Garcia and the Norwegian Casper Ruud. The tournament was very well attended. Four teams will play in it: Belarusian Arina Sabalenka, Kazakh Jelena Rybakina, American Sofia Kenin, Russian Daniil Medvedev, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, and American Taylor Fritz.

The tournament will start on Thursday. Already in the first match in the Hawks will face the No. 12 Falcons (with Rybakina, Sorana Cirstea, Fritz and Sumit Nagal in the lineup).

From Thursday to Saturday, four teams will compete in a league system. The top two teams will qualify for the final on Sunday. A year ago, Świętek only lost in the final.

There will be five matches during each match: two matches for men and women, and a mixed doubles match. Each individual competition will consist of one winning combination. To add to the excitement, the organizers have prepared another recipe. The team that wins the combination will have the right to some kind of extra time. In it, he will have a chance to change the fate of the entire match.
