“Immortal” with Henry Cavill: We know when filming will begin
On October 31, the next edition of the American Film Market – one of the most important film markets in the world – will kick off in Santa Monica. The event’s hottest headlines will include the long-announced remake of “Immortal.” According to Deadline, filming for the film, whose budget is estimated at $100 million, is scheduled to begin in 2024.

“Al-Khalid”: Details of the new version

The main role will be played by former Superman and former Witcher Henry Cavill. Behind the camera will be Chad Stahelski (TV series “John Wick”), who announces that the new “Immortal” movie will offer a more realistic approach to the well-known story than the original. The project is called Modern tragedy And “John Wick” with swords.

While hosting Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Chad Stahelski revealed some details about the “Timeless” reboot he’s working on. He revealed that the new story could be a prequel to the original 1986 film.

I think we have some really good stuff – He said. The trick is that with the motto “There can only be one”, you can’t kill everyone on the first try. I’ll be the first to tell you this: a lot of well-known characters will be involved in our story, but we’ve also taken into account elements from the series and are trying to make a kind of prequel, a story about the origins of the encounter, that we have room to develop.

The title character’s story takes place over hundreds of years. During this time, the hero becomes many different people and his emotional development extends – Stahelski says – When we first meet, Henry has been thinking about the idea of the burden of immortality from the beginning. I knew I had found an actor who could transform from a lively young person to a wise old soul on screen. This combination amazed me. I also saw right away that Henry really liked this series and had an idea for it. When an actor has so much passion, you know you’re going to get something special out of him. 10 minutes was enough for me to think: He’s a nice guy, and I want to spend more time with him.

The latest version of the script was written by Michael Finch (“John Wick 4”, “Predators”). According to unconfirmed information, the film will be the beginning of a new trilogy.

“The Immortal”: classic cinema

The original version of “Immortal” was released in 1986. The film was directed by Russell Mulcahy and starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown. This is a story about a Scottish warrior who turns out to be one of the so-called immortals – people who cannot be killed by normal methods. They fight each other in an eternal game for a legendary prize. Whoever remains the last living immortal will win it.

“The Immortal”, although a financial failure, gave rise to a film series that includes, among others: four films and three series.

Henry Cavill: What have you starred in lately?

After leaving the cast of “The Witcher” and being fired from the role of Superman in the DC universe, Henry Cavill does not complain of a lot of free time. We’ll see him early next year in the spy comedy “Argylle” directed by Matthew Vaughn (“Kingsman”). Two new Guy Ritchie films are also scheduled for release, including a war thriller “Ministry of Brutal War”.
