Russia's attack on Ukraine.  Russian parliamentarian: Recruits were killed in Ukraine, four company members survived

During a meeting of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation, Senator Lyudmila Narusova said that of the entire conscript group sent to armed operations in Ukraine, only four soldiers survived. Narusova is the widow of Anatoly Sobchak, the first democratic president of Saint Petersburg, who died in 2000.

Russian MP Lyudmila Narusova, about the Russian conscripts who were sent to armed operations in Ukraine, said that only four soldiers from one company, numbering one hundred people, survived, she said. She said at a meeting of the Federation Council (the upper house of the Russian parliament) committee on constitutional legislation, that “conscripts got out of the combat zone in Ukraine, forced to sign a contract or be signed by them.”

“But as a result, four out of a hundred survived,” she said. She added that the Ministry of Defense refused to confirm the validity of this information or not.

The Russian Defense Ministry officially confirmed the killing of 500 soldiers in the war, which began on February 24, two days ago.

Widow of the late protector of Putin

Lyudmila Narusova is the widow of Anatoly Sobchak, the first democratic capital of St. Petersburg, who died in 2000. Member of the Federation Council since 2002.

Anatoly Sobchak, as mayor of Saint Petersburg, was a protector of Vladimir Putin at the time when the current president of Russia at his side began his political career. Many people belonging to the ruling elite, who collaborated with Putin in the 1990s, came from the mayor’s office of St. Petersburg today. The current Russian leader himself called Sobczak his mentor and friend.

Putin became Sobjak’s chancellor in 1991. He soon earned the title of gray grace in the Saint Petersburg municipality, gaining more and more influence over the local administration. In the mayor’s office, the subsequent president was responsible for contacts with foreign countries, and in 1994 he became the first deputy mayor.
