Frank Langella replacing Hugh Laurie in Superman Returns

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Frank Langella ("Dracula" - 1979) will portray Perry White in Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns". He will replace British actor Hugh Laurie, who has a scheduling conflict with the shooting of his medical series "House" (Fox Television, executive produced by Bryan Singer), which was a huge success and will get a second season.

The character of Perry White is the editor of "The Daily Planet", the newspaper Clark Kent/Superman works as a journalist.

There is speculation that the plot of "Superman Returns" will revolve around Superman's battle with Lex Luthor and a mysterious killer from Krypton who has come to hunt down the Man of Steel.

The movie, which is shot in Australia stars Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman , Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, Hugh Laurie as Perry White, James Marsden as Richard White, Sam Huntington as Jimmy Olsen. Kevin Spacey is playing Lex Luthor. Kal Penn will portray Stanford, Luthor's right-hand man and Parker Posey will play Kitty Koslowski, Lex Luthor's villainous henchwoman.
