Vienna.  Knife attack.  Four people were injured, and the police arrested the culprit

The 35-year-old took a knife from a pub in Vienna’s Brigittenau district and then attacked random pedestrians in the street. On Tuesday, police said four people were injured. The victims of the attack are two women and two men, neither of whom is in danger.

The Austrian suspect has been arrested. “After an initial investigation, a political or religious motive was deemed unlikely,” the police stressed, adding that they had already identified the perpetrator, who was likely to have mental health problems.

According to Corinna Haad, a spokeswoman for the Viennese Rescue Service, nine rescue teams are working on the site, including a special task force. – The spokeswoman said: – During the emergency medical care, it was fortunately found that the victims had only superficial wounds, minor stab wounds and cuts from the blows of the knife handle. The wounded were taken to hospitals.

The 35-year-old was cordoned off and arrested by officers from the Brigittenau police station. – The man reported inaccurate information that could give the impression of a mental disorder – Media reports.

The police appealed to witnesses who recorded video materials or took pictures at the scene not to publish them on social media for the welfare of the victims and to hand them over to the police for investigation purposes.
