Teenager Alla (Katarzyna Gałązka) doesn't fit into the provincial world around her. He is still rebellious and works against his father (Grzegorz Damici), a physics teacher at the local school. When Alaa accidentally discovers that she has superpowers and meets her sister Lena (Karolina Proshnica), who she never knew existed, her life is turned upside down – literally. Colonel (Marek Kalita) and his dangerous comrade Hector (Mateusz Kosiukevich) follow the trail of girls with supernatural powers from the secret department 92. The soldiers' goal is to create a powerful weapon of the new generation. To get it, they are willing to sacrifice a lot, even the lives of their sisters. After years of separation, will Alaa and Lina be able to join forces and cooperate? Will the Super Sisters set out to save not only each other, but the world?
“Super Sisters” is a new type of superhero film in Polish cinema. An action-packed, special-effects-packed sci-fi story about the courage, determination, and superpowers we each have within us.
Rising stars of Polish cinema met on screen – Katarzyna Gawowska (“Klangor”, “Bring Back Alice”), Karolina Prosznicka (“The Coach's Daughter”, “A Minute of Silence”) and Temek Fracek – in their first appearance on the big screen. a screen. Their partners are: Grzegorz Damięcki, Mateusz Kościukiewicz and Marek Kalita.
The set of a superhero movie is very challenging: – You can say I have a taste of Hollywood… For three months, I was preparing intensely physically for this role – it was personal training, stunt training, diet and a food box. Acting exercises are almost daily. Thanks to this, I learned to fly… And I must admit that it was difficult to return to Earth – says Katarzyna Galuszka.
– Until now, I have been mainly interested in auteur cinema, but as an actor I am constantly looking for new challenges and development opportunities. Immersing myself in something that had previously been foreign to me was a new and exciting experience for me. In my attempt to develop my personality more deeply, I looked for its strength not only on the psychological level, but also on the physical level. I spent several months in intense strength training and stunt tests to best reflect Lena's character. I am happy that I was able to participate in a project that was challenging for me, in which the two main roles were female and which says a lot about the strength of women – Karolina Proshnika comments on accepting the role.
– Amazing superhero movies! They show us a world full of adventures and extraordinary opportunities, where we can escape from the daily routine. But most importantly, they know that every one of us can be a hero, regardless of age or social status. All you need is a little determination to do great things – become a superhero – says Tymek Frączek.
The film's director is Maciej Barczewski, who also created the script in collaboration with Krzysztof Gureczny. “Supersisters” is produced by Aurum Film, a studio whose credits include, among others: the Oscar-nominated film “Corpus Christi,” the Netflix hit “All My Friends Are Dead,” and the award-winning film “Scythe.” The distribution company is NEXT FILM, which has brought to cinemas such successful films as “Chłopi”, “Akademia Pana Kleksa” and “Too big for fairytales 2”.
