New satellite studies of the Arctic ice cap used data collected by ships owned by NASA and the European Space Agency. This shows that Arctic sea ice is melting very quickly.
The research was conducted by polar explorers Sahra Ghasemi of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Ron Kwok of the University of Washington’s Applied Physics Laboratory. They analyzed satellite data collected monthly from 2018 to 2021. They showed that Arctic sea ice weakened by up to 1.5m.

The melting of ice in the Arctic during the summer period is not a phenomenon. However, the above-mentioned loss of 1.5 m was observed throughout the year in multi-year ice. The shown losses are up to 16%. its size.
Data was collected using vessels ICESat-2 It is owned by NASA and CryoSat-2 by the European Space Agency. These are not the first reports of this kind from this part of our planet. We recently told you that Greenland has lost so much ice in 20 years that water was formed this way Covering the whole of Europe for a distance of 0.5m.
At the same time, we invite you to listen to the latest episode of the podcast from a technical point of view. This time we talked to the creator of the ANS encoding … which is used by almost the whole world today. Although he has developed a great solution, he hasn’t seen a single zloty, and tech giants – from Google to Microsoft – are trying to patent them, without sharing the profits with the world. How did this happen and what exactly does ANS allow? You can find the answers to this below:
