Officially: Tottenham defeats Barcelona. Transfer confirmed, sales recorded

English club Tottenham announced the transfer of Lucas Bergvall in the summer, winning the competition to sign him with several European clubs.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan are said to be among those interested in acquiring Lukas Bergvall from Djurgården. Expressen journalists suggested that his name was on the wish lists of at least 30 clubs. He made the final choice between two – Barcelona and Tottenham. This was the last one.

The Londoners announced they had reached an agreement with the 18-year-old midfielder (they did so on his birthday) and his club. Al-Suwaidi agreed to a contract valid until June 30, 2029, to enter into force on July 1.

According to David Ornstein, Djurgårdens will receive €10 million, which may include bonuses. If this proves true, Bergvall will be the most expensive player sold in the history of not only his current club, but also the entire Swedish top flight, which Hugo Larsson previously left for nine million euros.

The young footballer joined Djurgårdens last year from Brommapojkarna. He finished the 2023 domestic league season with 25 appearances, scoring two goals and an assist. Taking into account all competitions, he appeared on the field 29 times.

Bergvall is his country's new senior representative. In January, he played in a match against Estonia.
