The sequel to the 2017 Oscar-nominated animated film will tell the coming adventures of Moana, Maui and the new crew. Moana will embark on a journey across the remote and dangerous waters of Oceania after receiving a call from her ancestors.

The second part will be directed by Dave Derrick Jr. The music was composed by Grammy Award winners Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Grammy Award nominee Opetaia Foa'i, and three-time Grammy Award winner Mark Mancina.

At the moment, it is not known whether Dwayne Johnson will return to the role of Maui or not, however, it is known that a live-action version with Johnson is in the works. It will premiere on June 27, 2025.

'Vaiana 2' is scheduled to hit theaters on November 27, 2024.
