Barry Levinson talks EntertainmentPosted by: MichaelBrad Pitt is often compared to his celluloid predecessor Robert Redford. And while Pitt has gotten into absolutely top shape for films like Fight Club and Snatch, he has never hit a homerun, but Redford has. Redford's film, The Natural, considered to be one of the best baseball films in history for its innocent, yet intense portrayal of the game has a little known fact tied to it.
During the shooting of the classic baseball movie The Natural back in 1984, Academy Award winning director Barry Levinson said Robert Redford hit his own homerun, " It was a beautiful homerun, but he was supposed to have missed the pitch. I just remember the fun of it and going hey Robert Redford just put one out of the ballpark. I just remember that moment.â€
Levinson also talked with Chris Yandek of TheSportsInterview.com about how the entertainment industry has changed in 30 years, not remembering anything about winning his Oscar for Best Director of the movie Rain Man, and his thoughts on all the controversy around baseball today.
