Theatrical Trailer For The Raid: Redemption

You remember that ridiculously awesome red band trailer a while back featuring lots of crazy martial arts style fighting and graphic violence? That movie back then was called simply, THE RAID. Today Yahoo! Movies has debuted the latest theatrical green band trailer for the same film but now it is entitled THE RAID: REDEMPTION. The new trailer features just as much crazy martial arts style fighting and action, a lot less blood and now we have a small snippet of dialogue as well- plus it still has that awesome looking shot of two guys fighting as they are falling along the side of a building.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m still pretty pumped about this movie regardless of the title change. Although I have to admit when I saw Yahoo’s Twitter post about the trailer I literally thought it was the sequel that the director rushed out and filmed- until I watched it and realized it was indeed just THE RAID with a new title- I guess REDEMPTION is going to make it more marketable? THE RAID: REDEMPTION is set for release on March 23, 2012 which if it is released wide could spell trouble as it will be in competition with the PG-13 rated THE HUNGER GAMES.

Synopsis
Rama, a member of a special forces team, arrives at a rundown apartment blockwith a mission to remove its owner, a notorious drug lord. The building has become a sanctuary to killers, gangs, rapists and thieves seeking accommodationinthe one place they knowthey cannotbe touched by the police. When a spotter blows their cover, Rama andhis teammust fight their way through everyfloorandeveryroom not just to complete their mission but to survive their bloody ordeal.
