The Asus ROG Ally is throwing down the gauntlet on the Steam Deck. The company makes “AAA game console” and promises the highest quality

Steam Deck is very popular, which must have stimulated competition. Asus revealed the Asus ROG Ally, and although the device was initially treated as an April Fools’ Day joke, the device was actually built.

The first teaser for Asus ROG Ally was published on April 1, so a large part of the fans thought that Asus decided to make a joke in this way. But now we have confirmation – The company is preparing an “AAA portable game console” that we can connect to the TV.

We don’t yet know the full specifications of the Asus ROG Ally, but the device guarantees that it can play the latest songs in high quality – the material shows, among others, Dying Light 2, High on Life, Moving Out and WRC Generations.

According to the information provided – Asus decided to choose proprietary components prepared by AMD, which aims to provide the device with excellent performance.

The handheld console has a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with a brightness of 500 nits and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. These are much better results than Valve’s suggestion – 7 inches, 1280 x 800 pixels, 400 nits and 60 Hz.

The Asus ROG Ally is supposed to be a silent device, which is a direct nod to the noisy Steam Deck. Revealed materials confirm two analogues, a full-size d-pad, four function buttons, four system buttons plus two triggers and a bumper.

Full specifications of the Asus ROG Ally, price and release date are due soon.
