Quebecor is the new (minority) shareholder of HABSolumentFan

Sources tell us that Attraction will have new business partners, working in the television and cinema industry as well as creating digital content.

Quebecor (Pierre-Karl Péladeau) has bought a minority stake in the company, according to our sources. HABSolumentFan, Monde de Stars, Ayoye and other previously independent sites are now (minority) properties of Quebecor.

Remember that these sites were bought for several million dollars from young entrepreneurs who started Fan-O-Web ten years ago.

It will be interesting to see if Quebecor will continue the collaboration between TVA Sports and HABSolumentFan. However, according to our sources, nothing is currently planned for this purpose.

Richard Speer is still the majority shareholder in the attraction. Also note that others in the industry will become minority shareholders in the scheme.

According to our sources, Quebecor was one of the potential buyers when Attraction acquired Fan-O-Web. So interest on this side is not new.

Many of the attraction's television productions are broadcast on ICI Radio-Canada. It will be interesting to see if Quebecor and our state corporation will work well together.

Quebecor recently changed its structure: most content written on the Internet now originates from Quebecor Digital and not from the company's various individual properties. We want to be more and more active on the Internet.

The partnership with Gravity, which has faced financial challenges in recent years, fits right in this vein.

Quebecor has always wanted to be a partner of many media companies.

According to our sources, Quebecor shareholders recently seriously evaluated the option of becoming a business partner in BPM Sports, but the CRTC reportedly prevented them from doing so due to their presence in TV and print media.
