Tragic news comes from Mazovia Province. During the holidays, Lukas Pokora, the 41-year-old coach of Corbec Kadzidlo, who played in the Regional League, died. The man's funeral will be held on Thursday.
On Monday, the official account of GUKS Kurpik Kadzidło published information about the sudden death of coach and former player of the team Lukasz Pokora.
Representatives of Corbec expressed their condolences to the relatives of the deceased via social media.
“This morning we received very sad news… Long-time activist, footballer and former coach of FC Corbec Kadzidlo, Lukas Pokora, has passed away at the age of 41. The entire Corbec Kadzidlo FC community, the Board of Directors, players, supporters and fans express their sympathy and condolences. Sincerely to the family and those closest to Lucas.”
As Przeglad Sportuy Onet found out, the death of a 41-year-old man came as a big surprise to his relatives. The young coach has not previously complained of any health problems, and he intends to return to work at the club immediately after the holiday.
“As we learned, Lukasz Pokora's condition was worse at Christmas and he was taken to hospital. Doctors at the site were unable to help him. The cause of death was pulmonary embolism,” journalist Marek Waworzynowski said.
Łukasz Pokora was an important member of the local community and throughout his life remained associated with the Kurpik Kadzidło company, which was founded by his father. The 41-year-old was a player at the club for many years, working there as an activist and eventually becoming their coach.
The mayor of Kadzidlo Municipality, Dariusz Lukaszewski, bid farewell to the deceased coach on social media.
“He remained the embodiment of peace, of sincere passion, enjoying successes with elegance and accepting failures with elegance. An absolute lover of football. Strongly and ever-present in the Kadzidl scene. Participated in creating local sporting successes. Genuinely concerned about the fate of Kadzidl.” “He left behind a good memory and many developed students of the sport. Lucas' death is a huge loss and a great pain for us,” he wrote.
Kurpik Kadzidło shared information about his coach's funeral. The final farewell for Łukasz Pokora will begin on Thursday at 8:00. The deceased will be buried in the parish cemetery in Kadzidło.
