From the movie Sand dunes Many scenes have been deleted from 2021. He recently confirmed this fact himself Denis VilleneuveWhich also declared that viewers would never see them again – the artistic vision that the director wanted to share was exactly the one we saw on screen. However, the veil of secrecy regarding one of the above sequences has been lifted by the man now famous for his long language. Dave BatistaWho appeared in both parts of the production as Glossu Rabban Harkonnen, also known as “The Beast”.
In an interview with Collider, the actor revealed this from the beginning My debts A scene in which his character and Peter de Vries appear (David Dastmalchian), Mentat Harkonnenov:
Now I wonder: Will he (Villeneuve – author's note) be angry with me if I talk about it? I don't think so, it's not a big deal. I won't reveal anything, but in the first movie I had a scene with Dave Dastmalchian in it as well. I was in awe of his character, even though it was very subtle – I wanted that scene to be shot for selfish reasons because I actually love Dave. I think it does not fit into the overall vision. Maybe there wasn't room for it, or it caused problems with the pace of work? Such decisions are beyond my control. But yeah, I was a little disappointed that this scene didn't make the final cut.
Why was this scene deleted from the first scene? My debts?
It appears that Villeneuve decided to remove this scene because of the on-screen approach to de Vries' character. While in Frank Herbert's book he was very influential, and showed sadistic tendencies, and his opinion was valued by everyone at Harkonnen's court, at first Debt Mintat is depicted as a mysterious and obedient servant of the Baron. In addition, it was the latter who killed Dr. Yueh – in the novel, de Vries did just that.
