There was no surprise. Manchester City players easily qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, beating Copenhagen 3-1 at their home stadium. Kamel Grabara failed to score the second goal.

Danish champions, FC Copenhagen, have sensationally reached the knockout stage of the Champions League. After the 1/8 finals draw, it became certain that the capital team's chances of reaching the quarter-finals were slim. Defending champion Manchester City has not stopped recently.

Pep Guardiola's team achieved a two-goal lead in the first match. In the second leg, Camil Grabara, who was captain, led the visitors onto the pitch.

Rodzianin and his teammates would like to forget the beginning of the confrontation with the champions of England as soon as possible. After only nine minutes, the score became 2-0 in favor of City. In the 5th minute, after receiving a corner kick, Manuel Akanji, who missed the goal, scored eight meters in front of the goal. The gravedigger did not even move.

Four minutes later, the electrode failed. Rodri struck first and hit the crossbar. After a while, Julian Alvarez shot from outside the penalty area. Grabara tried to catch the ball, but it bounced from his hands and fell into the goal.

The goals conceded easily destroyed the visitors, who needed several minutes to recover. During this time, City players did not give the ball to Copenhagen. This remained the case until the 29th minute, when the visitors launched a counterattack. Mohamed Elyounoussi tricked Elias Gellert and beat Ederson with a flat shot from the penalty area.

The goal gave confidence to the Danish champions and they started looking for a draw. However, they were unable to create much of a threat in front of Ederson's goal. Pep Guardiola's gloomy face did not predict pleasant moments for the hosts during the break, after all, the Spaniard did not plan his players to give the initiative to the opponent. The atmosphere was improved by Erling Haaland, who deceived the defender in the third minute of stoppage time inside the penalty area and fired into the goal with a flat shot. There wasn't much Grabara could do in this situation.

After changing sides, there were scattered tensions in front of the goal. The guests wanted to avoid embarrassment and paid much attention to defense. They got into the box a few times, including Ederson, who was very nervous on Wednesday, but they were unable to seriously threaten him for long. In just the 66th minute, Uri Oscarsson's shot hit Ederson. The goal would not have been awarded anyway, as the visiting player was offside.

Guardiola's side, almost certain of promotion, did not rush forward and tried to win the game with as little loss of steam as possible. The guests were waiting for the next moment. Ederson played nervously, but he did not allow himself to be surprised again. The locals could have scored in extra time. Rico Luis shot from several meters, but it hit the crossbar.
