Asseco Resovia Rzeszów has a good chance of becoming the second Polish team to win the European Cup this season after Projekt Warszawa, winners of the Challenge Cup. Rzeszów, who eliminated in fine style their theoretically more dangerous opponent, Turkey's Fenerbas Istanbul, in the semi-finals, will face SVG Lueneburg in the CEV Cup final. The German team, like Resovia, is playing in this edition of the competition after being eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage.

SVG is fourth in the Bundesliga, eight points behind the leaders, Berlin Recycling Volleys. Lüneburg recently suffered two consecutive defeats at home. First, the Berlin Recycling team lost (2:3), then the Helios Grizzlies lost to Giessen (0:3).

Asseco Resovia enters the competition on Tuesday in a different mood than its German rival. Rzeszów has won its last two games in the PlusLiga – last Wednesday it defeated PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów (3-0), and three days later beat GKS Katowice at home (3-2).

The two-legged CEV Cup final rematch is scheduled to take place on March 19 (Tuesday).
