AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT achieves good results in mining Ethereum while maintaining impressive energy efficiencyAMD Radeon RX 6600 XT is the latest graphics card, based on the RDNA 2 architecture and ready for Full HD gaming. As expected, especially in Poland, prices for the new item are much higher than the MSRP forecast. It may soon turn out that the Radeon RX 6600 XT will be a tasty morsel for crypto miners, especially the popular Ethereum. The first tests show that the NAVI 23 system is extremely energy efficient, while at the same time delivering a very high ETH drilling result. While the Radeon score is very similar to that of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 cards, the RDNA 2 chip produces much less power at the same time.

With a skillful setting of the base clock and GDDR6 memory, the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card can etch ETH with a score of 32 MH/s, while consuming just 55 watts of power.

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT uses a full NAVI 23 core with 2048 stream processors. It also has 8GB GDDR6 memory with a high effective clock speed of 16000MHz. The first performance tests of the RDNA 2 chip appeared in on-network Ethereum mining. With the default card settings, i.e. no changes to the base clock and memory, the Radeon RX 6600 XT achieved a result of about 28MHz/sec with a power consumption of 93W. It was enough to lower the base clock, but at the same time increase the memory clock to make these results may dramatically changed.

After lowering the GPU clock speed to 1200MHz, while increasing the GDDR6 memory clock to 2200MHz (actually 17600MHz instead of 16000MHz), there was an increase in Ethereum mining performance. From 28 MH / s it was possible to increase the result to 32 MH / s. However, the power consumption of the graphics card has decreased significantly – from 93 watts to only 55 watts, thus achieving amazing energy efficiency. With these results, miners, especially Ethereum cryptocurrencies, may turn their attention to the Radeon RX 6600 XT, especially as the cryptocurrency prices have started to grow.
