Poland is an attractive market for the catering industry, which is also noticed by foreign companies. In July of this year, the first outlets of the American Popeyes chain owned by Rex Concepts were opened in our country.
New bars and a German discount store. These will be the biggest debuts of 2023 in Poland
Now, the direction of international expansion of our country has been chosen by Lars Calibro, president and owner of the Taco Bar chain. It is a chain that operates on a franchise model, founded in Sweden in 1983, but Calibro believes it will do well outside the local market. He chose Poland as the first development destination because, as he explains, “Poles are open to new things and the market size is right. We don’t want to miss the opportunity it offers us. We will continue our development abroad from here.” But we don’t have to rush,” reports Puls Biznesu.
Taco Bar is one of the largest catering chains in Sweden
Taco Bar is one of the most popular and profitable catering companies in Sweden. According to “Puls Biznesu”, it has about 50 premises, and in 2022 generated revenues of EUR 26 million (PLN 116 million). It serves 2 million guests annually and cooperates with 35 franchisees. In an interview with “Puls Biznesu”, Calibro confirmed that over the past 15 years, excluding the pandemic period, they have opened about 3-7 new restaurants per year, and they plan to maintain a similar, or perhaps higher, pace in Poland.
The Polish chain wants to conquer abroad. Plans include: USA and Dubai
The company’s president confirms in an interview with “Puls Biznesu” that he does not need investors and is focusing on searching for franchisees. It offers a turnkey business model and imports its products, such as guacamole, nachos and tortillas. As for the costs borne by the franchisee, Calibro explains that they amount to “5% commission on net sales, licensing fees, and 2% marketing fees,” according to the “Puls Biznesu” website. The chain wants to open its buildings in major cities and is looking for a location on a street with space for a park.
Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
