A Fish Called Wanda Collectors Edition on DVD August 1st

Posted by: Michael

The funniest jewel-heist film of all time is back when MGM Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment release A Fish Called Wanda: Collector’s Edition as a 2-disc DVD set on August 1.  Starring Monty Pythoners John Cleese (Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle) and Michael Palin (The Quest for the Holy Grail) with Jamie Lee Curtis (True Lies) and Kevin Kline (The Pink Panther) in his Oscar® winning performance, this wonderfully smart and entertaining film features an unparalleled comedic cast and was directed by Charles Crichton (“The Avengersâ€?).  Set in London, these four very different characters team up to commit armed robbery and then try to double-cross each other for the loot.  A Fish Called Wanda: Collector’s Edition DVD set will be available for a SRP of $24.96 and will be loaded with special features, including behind-the-scenes footage, 30 minutes of deleted and alternate scenes, a trivia track, audio commentary by actor and writer John Cleese, and much more.

Four conniving jewel thieves...three Yorkshire terriers...two heaving bosoms and one proper British barrister.  It all adds up to “a non-stop barrage of...outrageous plot twists and over-the top performancesâ€? (L.A. Weekly) when a girl called Wanda (Curtis) tries to deceive her Nietzche-quoting boyfriend (Kline), an animal-loving hit man (Palin) and an embarrassment-prone counselor (Cleese) out of a fortune in jewels.

DVD BONUS Features Include

  • John Cleese’s First Farewell Performance
  • “Farewell Featurette: John Cleeseâ€?
  • Kulture Vulture Documentary
  • “Something’s Fishyâ€? Documentary
  • 30 Minutes of Deleted and Alternate Scenes
  • Trivia Track
  • Mug Shots: A Photo Gallery
  • A Message From John Cleese
