Resident Evil 3 - Afterlife now Extinction and Director set !

According to Variety Russell Mulcahy ("Highlander", "Swimming Upstream") will direct the 3rd part of the Resident Evil series now titled "Resident Evil: Extinction". Its also said that, despite earlier rumors ( Resident Evil 3 Rumors ), Milla Jovovich will reprise her role as Alice. The production for the movie is set to begin in 2006.

 

There is no official storyline available, due to the fact that the movie still is in pre-production. But according to earlier news "Extinction" may be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutant zombies and will play will play in the Nevada desert with the Aussie outback standing in for the American wasteland. Rumored characters to appear in the the new "Resident Evil" movie are Leon S. Kennedy, Albert Wesker, Claire Redfield and Chris Redfield. Its also said that the movie will have similarities to the game "RE: Code Veronica"
