Jordan Peele – movies so far
Jordan Peele’s first horror film “Get Out!” It cost only $4 million and grossed over $250 million worldwide. A story about a disturbing fascination with the black minority was also nominated for Academy Awards in 2018 in four major categories: For Film, Direction, Leading Performance by Daniel Kaluuya, and Original Screenplay — for which he ultimately won the statuette.
The horror film “We” was conceived two years later as a horrifying satire of the most terrifying vices of American society, namely, economic inequality. As you can read in our review of the film: “The greatest value of horror is the unconventional imagination of the creator, in which the bizarre and at the same time concrete world looks like the playroom of the seven-year-old daughter of Satan.”
We, dir. Jordan Peele
Although we expected a lot from Peele after both films, his next “No!” Impressed not only by its crazy idea, but also by the amount of cultural metaphors and references included in the plot. With so much cinema appeal, many think “No!” It’s still a first-rate horror movie full of horror and absurdity.
