TVP. “List of banned films”. There are 17 productions

On December 20, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz, dismissed the current heads of the boards of directors of Telewizja Polska, Polish Radio, and the Polish Press Agency, as well as the supervisory boards. The Minister appointed new supervisory boards for the companies, which in turn appointed new boards of directors.

On Wednesday, Sienkiewicz decided to liquidate TVP, Polskie Radio and PAP. He justified his decision by President Andrzej Duda's veto of the budget law, which included money to finance public media.

According to reports from “Gazeta Wyborcza”, the new management of TVP discovered the list of films that could not be shown on air during the presidency of Jacek Korski and Mateusz Matyszkowicz. – TVP has the right to all these films and can show them, but there was a political order not to show them – this is what an employee of the film editorial office of Telewizja Polska said in an interview with “GW”. The reasons for including films on the list were the political involvement of their makers and harsh criticism of the state of law and justice, or the topics they discussed.

The list of films includes 17 works. Among them: “Citizen Jones” by Agnieszka Holland, “Bestka” by Krystyna Janda, “My Mother’s Lovers” by Radosław Piovański, “Man of Iron” and “Man of Marble” by Andrzej Wojda, and “80 Million” by Waldemar Krzystyk. “Big Animal” and “Citizen” by Jerzy Sture, “Pokłosie” by Wladyslaw Pasikowski, “Fuks” by Maciej Dutkiewicz, “Zieja” by Robert Glinski, “Good Morning, I Love You” by Ryszard Zatorski, “Friendship Without Borders” by Sebastian Schipper, “Fun, fun” by Kinga Dybska, “Skłodowska” by Marjane Satrapi, “The Outlaw Father” by Ken Scott and “Simply Friendship” by Philip Zilber.
