The war in Israel
The conflict escalated in Israel after Hamas forces launched a surprise attack on the Israeli side on October 7. On Tuesday, Hamas fired the largest number of rockets at Israel since the beginning of the war. The attack came a day after the intense bombardment launched by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described as “the heaviest blow.”
Israeli soldiers have been gathering on the Gaza Strip border for more than two weeks. The army is preparing for a ground invasion, the declared goal of which is to eliminate Hamas and remove it from power.
