Magda Linette was completely helpless in the WTA 250 final in Guangzhou. Chinese tennis player Xiu Wang dominated the court, playing the Pole just one moment better in the second set.
On Saturday, Magda Linette (WTA 27) played in her sixth singles final on the WTA Tour. She had the opportunity to obtain her third title, after the Bronx in New York (2019) and Hua Hin (2020). In Guangzhou, her opponent was 22-year-old Xiu Wang (WTA 88), who reached her first final. The champion was the Chinese, who defeated the Polish 6-0, 6-2.
At the opening of the match, the tennis players played a fierce match. Linette won two break points, but the third point was converted by Wang with good attacking work. Chinese women were more aggressive and tolerated the hardships of exchanges better. The host country’s representative took control of the field, and there was great chaos in the Polish player’s match.
Wang got two more periods and took a 5-0 lead. Lynette was unable to threaten her opponent with a response and did not even score a match. The Chinese player used the second set ball.

There was a lot of power and precision in Wang’s performance. Lynette had no idea how to weaken her opponent’s striking power. After the match resumed, Lynette showed her best side. A great backhand pass after cross country allowed her to make up for the break loss. But Wang quickly regained control of the match. In the fifth game, the Polish woman lost two break points, but in the third game, the Chinese woman launched an effective attack. Excellent returns of the representative of the hosts brought the break to 5: 2. And after a while she finished the match with a brilliant backhand, which led to a foul.
