The disappearance of Julian Sands. What do we know about the case?
Julian Sands disappeared on Friday, January 13th. The North Hollywood-based actor went on a trip to the California mountains. The search began, but due to avalanche danger and bad weather, the ground crews had to stop working on Saturday night. The search continued with helicopters and drones. Ground crews were turned back when it was safe to do so. Unfortunately, this didn’t work.
Recently, the sheriff’s office reported that the search for the actor’s body had resumed. It was then that the family members of the missing man spoke publicly about the case for the first time. They thanked efforts to find out the fate of Sands.
What roles will we remember Julian Sands from?
Although Julian Sands mainly had supporting roles in his works, he also gave many memorable performances. Early in his career, he collaborated with directors such as Roland Joffé (“The Killing Fields”), James Ivory (“A Room with a View”) or Ken Russell (“Gothic”). In the mid-1980s, he left his native Britain and moved abroad. He played his first foreign role in the Canadian crime thriller Basements, directed by Robert Altman.

As Yves Cloquet in David Cronenberg’s “Naked Lunch” turned into a monstrous worm, and in “Trapped Helen” Jennifer Lynch played surgeon Nick Cavanaugh, who was possessed by a destructive feeling for the title character. He has enjoyed working with Mike Figgis. He starred in the Academy Award-nominated Leaving Las Vegas, The Browning Version, One Night, the verse-drama Sexual Innocence Lost, the comedy-drama Timecode and the thriller Suspension of Disbelief.
Other noteworthy Julian Sands films include Dario Argento’s The Phantom of the Opera, Roland Joffé’s Vatel, and Wim Wenders’s Million Dollar Hotel. He also appeared in “Medalion”, an action comedy with Jack Chan, referring to the medieval epic “Ring of the Nibelungs”, “Ocean’s 13”, or “Stargate: Arc of Truth”. When Henrik Wagner was young, we could see him in David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. He also starred in House of Crime, based on the prose of Agatha Christie, and in the controversial film The Painted Bird by Václav Marhoul.

Julian Sands was keen to appear in a series. Among his most famous television roles are Vladimir Berko, a businessman who finances a group of separatists fighting to liberate his country from Russian influence, in Season 6 of “24” and William Jagger in “Herbie the Pirate”. He has starred in such famous productions as “Hospital of Good Hope,” “The L Word,” “Lipstick in the Big City,” “Smallville,” “Dexter,” “Gotham,” “The Blacklist,” and “Medici: Masters of Florence.” “.
