“The emotions I felt at that moment, it was so intense! It's touching to receive the public's love like that. It hits you, you're floored. For me, at that moment, I have to say one more sentence, and I wonder how I'm going to sing without breaking my voice,” said the singer, visibly moved.

“It was a moment I will never forget,” he added.

A gathering of longings

Also, 20 years after the first season of Star Academy, Wilfred and his 13 companions were touched by the fans' enthusiasm.

“Everybody goes back 20 years. All the great nostalgic people of this world were present,” says the New Brunswicker.

“It's a significant event, and I have a feeling everyone remembers what stage of their life they were going through 20 years ago,” he adds.[àtravers[quelleétapedelavieilspassaient»ajoute-t-il[àtravers[quelleétapedelavieilspassaient»ajoute-t-il

For 14 former academics, the past two Fridays have been “magical,” says Wilfred Leboutillier.

“As artists, we've all evolved over a 20-year career. Some people don't do it today, but for those who do, it's true that it makes the show better than it was 20 years ago,” notes the Acadian artist.

Two events that took place in the last days will live in his memory forever.

“We started out a bit naive when we started this adventure. We were young, and at that time, it seems that we did not appreciate such moments very much, but 20 years later, today, we savored every passing second,” the singer maintains.

Even though Wilfred knew the meeting was only for two evenings, he wanted to repeat the experience for the 30th anniversary of Star Academy's 2003 vintage.

“You never can tell… Anyway, I'd love to relive it with the whole gang,” he says.
