In recent days, we write about Intel Alder Lake processors practically every day. It’s not just because we like layouts. However, we have been through a period when more leaks about it come out every now and then. From different angles, we have been bombarded with new performance tests of the top of the line Core i9-12900K, meanwhile there are also new images of processors and some other news. This time around, the Intel Core i7-12700 is back in the background, which should be a competitor to the popular octa-core Ryzen 7 5800X. We recently reported that the chip delivers similar results to the AMD chip, and today it turns out that another test revealed an important Alder Lake feature.
Although the Intel Core i7-12700 was until recently weaker than the Ryzen 7 5800X, this time we were able to achieve a 15% advantage in Geekbench 5.
New Intel Core i9-12900K Processor Tested at Geekbench 5. Alder Lake Sells Flagship Ryzen 9 5950X in Every Class
This is another good news for all those who are waiting to buy a 12th Gen Core processor. The Core i7-12700 model with TDP 65W was tested again in Geekbench 5. Although the software still shows that the chip has 8 cores and 16 threads (expect 8 efficient cores, 4 energy-saving cores, and 20 threads), this time We managed to achieve a noticeable advantage over the Ryzen 7 5800X. In the test, the single-core Intel chip scored 1768 points, and in the multi-core processor 11,620 points, while the AMD chip in the same tests scored 1672 points and 10,376 points. So Alder Lake is less than 6% faster in single core and 12% faster in multi core.
Intel Core i7-12700 – The closed Intel Alder Lake-S model will provide performance comparable to that of the competing AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
As we know, Intel Core i7-12700 and other models in the new series will be equipped with an integrated graphics chip. However, if someone wants to save money, and still use dedicated graphics, they will certainly be happy to hear about models planned with the iGPU turned off, which should be a little cheaper. As the screen below shows from KOMACHI_ENSAKA, in stores we will also see the best processors with an unlocked multiplier (KF tip). However, this is not surprising news – it can be taken as a confirmation that Intel will continue its policy in this aspect.
