The settlement of the VAT refund is the responsibility of the local governments. You will need to apply for a refund within 30 days of receiving the invoice documenting the gas connection. It can also be submitted electronically.
The Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) states that the estimated number of households eligible for a VAT refund will be around 300,000.. The cost of this recovery is estimated at PLN 1 billion.
The good news is that you will not need to submit the appropriate applications to receive gas supplements. Just submit it at the municipal office gas bill. As announced by the Minister of Climate, all invoices issued in 2023 can be brought to the office and on this basis the officials must return the VAT paid to us.
