Fertilizer subsidies began to be paid

Today, July 11 this year. ARMA has started subsidizing fertilizers!

Until May 31, 2022, farmers can apply for a grant to purchase mineral fertilizers other than lime and lime containing magnesium. The Agency for Agricultural Restructuring and Modernization received a total of almost 427 thousand. Requests for this support.

Today, on July 11 of this year, the disbursement of this aid began.

On the first day, ARMA transferred 20,000 to bank accounts for fertilizer support. 138 million PLN for farmers. The aid will be transferred, respectively, in July and August.

According to the agency’s data, and based on requests for assistance submitted, The maximum amount needed to implement the program was estimated at 3.5 billion PLN.

Let us recall that the total funds allocated for this purpose amounted to 3.9 billion PLN. This means that No correction factor will be applied.

The subsidy is intended to compensate for higher purchase costs of fertilizers purchased between September 1, 2021 and May 15, 2022. Only a farmer who has applied for direct support for 2022 can apply for this assistance.

The amount of support was calculated based on a two-step algorithm.

First, certain rates were taken into account, namely:

• 500 PLN per hectare of agricultural crops (excluding weeds on arable land, meadows and pastures) or
• PLN 250 per hectare of meadows and pastures as well as weeds on arable land (excluding areas supported under the AEC).

The maximum area covered by this aid is 50 hectares.

Secondly, the difference between fertilizer prices from September 1, 2021 to May 15, 2022 and those applicable from September 1, 2020 to May 15, 2021 was calculated, and for this purpose data was required confirming the costs incurred. In the case of fertilizer purchases between September 1, 2021 and May 15, 2022, the farmer had to attach copies of invoices, duplicates, or personal accounting documents confirming these purchases.

On the other hand, in the case of fertilizer purchase from September 1, 2020 to May 15, 2021, it can be calculated on the basis of average prices published by the Ministry of Agriculture, if the farmer does not have accounting documents. Confirmation of purchase. In this way the difference in the price of a ton of fertilizer in both periods was calculated. After multiplying by the number of tons of fertilizer purchased between September 1, 2021 and May 15, 2022, the amount of the aid was calculated.

After comparing the two amounts – the amount calculated on the basis of rates and area and which was calculated on the basis of the difference in the prices of fertilizers – the appropriate rate of assistance was determined, whichever is smaller.
