Currently, you don’t have to pay extra for 4K on Disney+ for Odra. The Digitalfernsehen.de portal reports that three entry models will apply from November 1st.
The first is the standard version with ads for €5.99 per month, which is less than 27 PLN. In this version, it is not possible to pay a one-year subscription in advance and download products to play them later offline.
A little more, because you will have to pay 8.99 euros for the standard package without ads, which allows you to use products in Full HD quality. The fee will then be €8.99 per month, or about 40 PLN. The annual alternative to this option is €89.90. New is a premium subscription with 4K and Dolby Atmos content. It costs 11.99 EUR (equivalent to 54 PLN) per month or 119.90 EUR per year.
More expensive in Poland, but without a premium plan
Packages that guarantee access to content of a certain quality offered by Netflix. The Standard plan costs 29 PLN and allows you to watch content in 720p. Better video quality is ensured by the standard package for PLN 49 (1080p). The premium option allows you to enjoy 4K + HDR productions, but you have to pay 60 PLN per month. On HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, and Canal+ online, 4K content is available at no additional charge.
In Europe, the premium package will also be launched in Denmark, France, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK outside of Germany. Will not appear in Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Serbia Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Poland.
Although 4K content will still be available in our country at the standard subscription price, the price will increase from PLN 28.99 to PLN 37.99 per month. It will not cost PLN 289.90 per year, but only PLN 379.90. The increases will go into effect Dec. 6. In Canada and in the countries where the premium option will appear, a cheaper package with ads appears for the first time. And in the United States, it will already be available from December 2022.
The extra fee to watch 4K productions in select markets isn’t the only decision Disney has made that resembles the strategy used by Netflix. And in 2024, the streaming service will place restrictions on people sharing their passwords with people outside the household. Thanks to these activities, Netflix gained 6 million new subscribers in the last quarter.
