The attack was carried out on the Crimean Bridge in July. Only now the SBU has publicly admitted that it is responsible for this act. The Ukrainian services provided CNN with recordings showing the moment of the explosion from the perspective of the drone’s camera as it dropped the payload. These films were shown to the world for the first time.

A long way from surgery

The head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, told CNN that the “Sea Baby” drone used was the result of months of development work that began immediately after the invasion.

“Drones are a unique invention of the Security Service of Ukraine,” he said. “None of the private companies were involved. With these drones, we recently carried out a successful strike against the Krymsky Bridge, the large attack ship Olengorskiy Gornyak and the SIG tanker.”

The film is about an oil tanker in the Black Sea in the port of Novorossiysk. According to Ukrainian officials, fuel was being transported for the Russian military on board. There were about 100 people on board at the time. There is no accurate information about the dead and wounded.
