Ubisoft is on the offensive and I’m glad the company is finally making a splash in the gaming market

Ubisoft is generally a hated publisher among hardcore gamers. Long-running titles, hundreds of question marks on the map, mechanics borrowed from other products of the same company… It is difficult to disagree with some titles, because Ubisoft does not have much in common with innovation.

However, I think you will agree that without Ubisoft the gaming market would be completely empty. Although everyone knows what the upcoming killer is, countless people are interested in this game so that they can play it during the premiere and enjoy exploring another beautiful world with an interesting story divided into historical and contemporary threads. This applies not only to Assassin’s Creed, but also to the Far Cry and Watch Dogs series.

There seems to be an element in Ubisoft’s games that is difficult to describe and encourages us to reach for later titles from this publisher, even though we know very well what we will find in them. Or at least we can guess, which is all but confirmed by the recently released The Crew Motorfest and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. It was supposed to be groundbreaking, but it turned out to be just plain solid. Especially with the second element, which is currently one of the most beautiful games available for the current generation of consoles.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an assassin’s game – it’s going to be a big seller anyway

The just mentioned element could be the fact that the games published by Ubisoft are generally available to all players, they do not require us to put in much effort to complete certain activities, and their main goal is to provide a strong dose of fun in chopping enemies or cutting ropes as the first vehicle in the race. In games like Avatar or Assassin’s Creed, we must also distinguish between a beautiful world that surprises with its liveliness, landscapes or simply location design, and therefore with its otherworldly atmosphere.

It’s trendy right now to complain about Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and I already know the game will sell very well. There were also a lot of bad things said about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, about the fact that we were tired of so many question marks, and in the end it was the most purchased Assassin by players – even though it showed more unknown places on the map than Odyssey or Origins. Shadows will approach this theme differently (more info at this link), but I feel in my bones that the skeleton of the last trilogy will still be preserved, so most of the time we’ll be running around places, taking over camps, and hacking enemies into pieces with our sword, including Admiring the beautiful buildings of the land of the rising sun.

Kai from Star Wars Outlaws is taking no prisoners

Star Wars Outlaws

It will be no different with Star Wars Outlaws, which will close out this year’s cucumber season. The premiere will take place at the end of August, and since the project is developed by Massive Entertainemt (the same company behind Avatar Frontiers of Pandora), we can expect some unusual gameplay solutions and stunning graphics once again. Some of the creators’ ideas, such as wanted posters that are a bit reminiscent of the mechanics of Red Dead Redemption 2, when we were pestered by law enforcement officers in the city, or faction contracts that unlock or block optional story/paths, make us think that this will be an adventure that stands out from the rest of the main teams at Ubisoft .

Just as with AC Shadows, a lot of people are talking negatively about Kay Vess’s adventure in a world full of dangers, but you don’t need a crystal ball to know that the game will sell at least satisfactorily. Again – since it’s published by Ubisoft, we can count on a lot of activities (mini-games, visiting random places, eliminating thugs that are after us) that don’t require a lot of effort, this title could be treated as a fun addition after Work or school, more than a demanding, soul-like production that requires a lot of effort. In addition, there is the Star Wars brand, which is very strong in the market and will definitely strengthen the position of the Massive Entertainment studio.

Personally, I’m glad that Ubisoft is going to make more noise in the second half of the year, because honestly… I’ve been craving another assassin or a bigger adventure in the Star Wars universe. I need an open world with beautiful scenery and activities that will make my long evenings during the work week more enjoyable. Plus, I can’t wait to learn more about Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the Splinter Cell remake, and the lost game Beyond Good and Evil 2. Maybe we’ll learn more during Ubisoft Forward, which was announced on June 10 of this year!
