“The Neverending Story” is one of the biggest hits of the 1980s, and according to Variety, there are plans for a series of films set in the universe written by Michael Ende. Michael Ende Productions and See-Saw Films are involved in the project.

According to Variety, a number of studios and streaming platforms have been involved in the adaptation rights to Michael Ende's The NeverEnding Story in recent years. Eventually, they went to the studio See-Saw Films, which worked on productions like Dog's Claws, Heartstopper, and Lame Horses. Producers will be Ian Canning and Emil Sherman, who will join Roman Hawke and Ralph Gassman from Michael Ende Productions.

“The Neverending Story” was published in 1979. It quickly gained the status of a best-selling book – first in Germany, and then around the world, where millions of copies were sold.

This story is timely and timeless, and can truly be told in a new way – commented Ian Canning. What's special about this book is that you can return to it at different stages of life and discover new meanings. So, it's great to have the opportunity to offer a new perspective that shows new layers and meanings. We believe that every generation deserves their own journey into imagination.
