PS5 and XSX games | S at 30 fps as standard? This quality is "inevitable"

Gamers seem to need to prepare for several games at 30fps. Richard Ledbetter of Digital Foundry presented the situation, confirming that we’ll be playing mostly at 30fps in the coming months.

A Plague Tale: Requiem and Gotham Knights runs on the latest consoles at 30 frames per second, causing quite a bit of anger among gamers, but it turns out that in the future there may be many more games on the market offering the same smoothness.

The journalist asserts that such a situation is inevitable because Developers want to use the full potential of Unreal Engine 5 – Creators will focus on stunning graphics, but won’t be able to squeeze extra power from PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S to offer better liquidity to players.

“Answering this question is difficult, but ultimately I think it is inevitable that the rollout of 60fps support will slow dramatically — not least because many titles want to take advantage of the full range of features offered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 5,” setting the stage for a model The new 3D rendering. We already got a taste of UE5’s first fidelity offering with last year’s massive demo – The Matrix Awakens – based on an early version of the engine. Lumen uses hardware-accelerated ray tracing to provide stunningly realistic lighting, while Nanite delivers a level of engineering detail beyond traditional rendering.”

Of course, creators don’t have to draw a bunch of Unreal Engine 5 magic, but it’s clearly not that easy – considering that this technology has made its debut and the studios want to try it out.

Richard Ledbetter took these two clauses into practice and emphasized it For such games, 40 fps would be a good option, which is already used on PlayStation sites:

“The focus has shifted, and Asobo Studio has chosen resolution and visual performance over performance — but there is an evolution in support for 40 fps on 120 Hz monitors. Sony single-game studios have encouraged the use of 40 fps resolution modes in most of their recent productions, including Uncharted : The Legacy Collection, Horizon Forbidden West, and The Last of Us Part 1. This trend was started by Insomniac Games, titles Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart introduced this feature.”

Here we are not only getting an extra 10fps because In this case, we get a much smoother gameplay:

“It might sound weird since you’re ‘only’ getting an extra 10 frames per second, but the refresh rate isn’t linear, [czas ramki] he is. The game is refreshed at 30 fps every 33.3 ms, and the game is refreshed at 60 fps every 16.7 ms. Shooting at 40 frames per second puts you in the middle at 25 milliseconds per frame. It might be “just” an extra 10fps, but it feels smoother because it’s exactly in the middle between the 30 and 60fps widths. “

However, there are many indications that although the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S had to deliver a significant performance boost, however in some production we’ll only be able to talk about the expected 60fps.
