In the fifth round match of the 2023/2024 French League, defending champion Paris Saint-Germain unexpectedly lost 2-3 to its guest OGC Nice, whose player Marcin Boca played the entire match.

Friday’s match in Paris is expected to be an interesting one, with Paris Saint-Germain the favourites. However, the visiting Polish goalkeeper, Marcin Puka, was counting on stopping the French champion.

From the beginning of the competition, the Parisians started attacking strongly and kept getting into Nice’s penalty area. Kylian Mbappe was active among the hosts, which increased their offensive movements.

Just when it looked like Luis Enrique’s side were going to take the lead, OGC Nice scored. In the 21st minute, Terem Ejobor Mofi caught a ball that collided in the Paris Saint-Germain penalty area and shot without hesitation from a few meters, surprising Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Paris Saint-Germain’s angry response came less than 480 seconds later, when Achraf Hakimi pulled the ball to the 16th meter, and Mbappe scored from the first ball and beat Boca, who perhaps could have acted better in this situation. In the end, no more goals were scored before half-time.

After changing sides, the duo Movi and Gaetan Laborde presented their show. First, in the 53rd minute, the former brilliantly overtook the defense of the French champions and sent the ball in front of the goal to Laborde, who shot it into the net from the air.

Later, Gaetan Laborde played a good pass to Terem Ejobor Mofi, who fired the ball from about 16 meters into the right post of the goal guarded by Donnarumma.

PSG bumped their heads into the wall of OGC defenders for a long period and only scored at the end thanks to Kylian Mbappe who completed the brace. There was no time left for PSG to equalize.
