Hyundai Santa Fe makes its debut in Poland. It's larger, but without a diesel engine

The new Hyundai Santa Fe will make its debut on Polish price lists soon. However, before the car went on sale, I had the opportunity to see it during the preview. The fifth version of the Korean flagship is newer, bigger, more spacious and certainly more spacious than its predecessor. Although the first impression is really good, I already know that not all customers will be happy. It's all about which engines will be used in European models.

The fifth-generation European flagship (there's a larger Palisade in the US) looks like a prototype, but it's actually a finished product — big, angular and very futuristic. The length of the current generation is 4,830 mm (+46 mm), width 1,900 mm, height 1,720 mm (+10 mm), and the wheelbase is 2,815 mm (48 mm longer than its predecessor).

On the road, it would be difficult to confuse this giant box with another car. This is due to the distinctive “H”-shaped LED lights or lights mounted very low on the massive trunk lid. In addition, we have placed strong emphasis on the wheel arches, wheel sills, high window line and large skirts. In my opinion, the new Hyundai Santa Fe looks like a lunar lander that could take heavy ordnance fire. The size and quantity of sheet metal make a great impression in real life. There will be 10 case colors to choose from, i.e. Abyss Black Pearl, Create White Pearl, Cream White Matte, Typhoon Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Ocado Green Pearl, Terracotta Orange, Cyber Sage Pearl, Teary Brass Metallic Matte, And Pbble. Blue pearl.

Inside – as you might expect – there is also a lot of space. The seats are very spacious and comfortable, and the front row passengers are separated by a wide armrest (that opens in both directions) and an island with places for items, drinks and chargers. At your fingertips are the physical air conditioning panel, buttons for driving modes and functions, as well as multimedia. In front of the driver are two large 12.3-inch displays that are slightly angled to facilitate driver operation.

The second row also looks good. There is plenty of room for legs, feet, shoulders and head. The sofa can easily accommodate three adults, and the corner box, equipped with charging ports and sockets, can easily accommodate several suitcases. The car can be customized according to your needs, as the new Hyundai Santa Fe is available in 5-, 6- and 7-seat versions. The 6-seater model with captain's chairs in the second row will only be available in the top 'Calligraphy' trim level, and there will be five color options to choose from: Obsidian Black, Supersonic Grey, Pecan Brown, Forest Green, Black Ink.

The Hyundai Santa Fe will be offered in Europe in two hybrid versions. The Polish price list includes the classic hybrid 1.6 T-GDI HEV with 6-speed automatic transmission and the plug-in hybrid 1.6 T-GDI PHEV with 6-speed automatic transmission. According to the manufacturer, the power of the hybrid versions in Europe will not exceed 160 horsepower.

Customers in the Old Continent may be disappointed, because in other markets, namely North America and Korea, the new Hyundai Santa Fe will be available with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine (2.5 T-GDI 8DCT) with 281 hp, as well as the classic hybrid with 180 hp (1.6 T -GDI HEV 6AT). Prices will be announced soon, and the first units will be on the roads in the middle of this year.
