They say nothing is lost on the Internet. However, we have the tools to do this Effectively make searching for some content more difficult, that reaches him. First, it’s worth explaining, at least in general terms, how Google’s search engine works. The sites that appear in search results are not owned by a US company. Google may not interfere with content published on other websites. However, it can analyze their content and then display sites within search results.
Google bots are constantly combing through billions of websites – both new ones and those that have been online for a long time. In the second case, the algorithms analyze the changes made since the last visit. Based on the analysis of content, links, images, page layout, responsiveness, etc., pages are indexed – they are described according to a key that allows algorithms to determine the content of the website. They “rate” the page based on indexing data, which affects the site’s position in the results list.
The process is of course more complex, and the exact parameters of the search engine algorithms are a secret that Google does not share with users. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have any influence on what may be shown in the results. This primarily concerns blocked content, but also sensitive data that may find its way online in various ways.
Answer to the second part of the question – Only Google employees can remove data from search results. Only an individual user or organization can indicate the address of the website that should be removed and submit such a request. Deletion of data from Google may also be ordered by a court.
The Company determines exactly what content may be removed from search results on Help Center pages. The list includes:
- Intimate or private photos;
- Fabricated pornography;
- Pornography incorrectly associated with a particular name;
- Personally identifiable content;
- Content you can use it for com. doxingu;
- Information about an individual placed on sites with onerous removal policies;
- Pictures showing minors.
Any user who comes across such information on the Internet can Request to be removed from search results. However, the report must relate to information about ourselves or the people we represent.
Currently, users in Poland can report The address of the site to be removed from Google search Using the special form available At this address. After clicking on the link, several completed fields will appear. The most important thing is to correctly determine the reason for requesting data deletion. We have 4 options to choose from:
- Content contains nudity or sexual themes.
- The content contains your personal data.
- The content is hosted on a site with onerous content removal policies.
- The content depicts a person under the age of 18.
Below, you can also agree to send us an email after an order has been processed. After the case is closed successfully, the data may still be displayed in the search engine for some time. This is because Google updates its databases at specific intervals. However, we can request manual updating of the content, just check it out here And follow the instructions.
In the coming months, another option to delete personal data from Google should appear in Poland, which is currently being tested as a beta function (mainly among users in the USA). On mobile devices, after going to the Google app and tapping on your avatar in the upper right corner, a box will appear among the available options “Search results for you” (ang. results about you).
Using it, we will be able to remove content containing our own faster Address, phone number, email, credit card details, bank account number, confidential medical records or photos and scans with handwritten signature.
What’s called The right to be forgotten This is one of the provisions resulting from the EU General Data Protection Regulation. He says that every person is normal He has the right to request that the administrator delete his personal data immediately, and the administrator is obligated to delete it without undue delay. These records can be consulted in contacts with Google and the administrator of the specific website on which our personal data has been published.
However, in some cases, the other party may refuse to remove the content. This may be the case, for example, with information relating to previously committed crimes or transgressions, the deletion of which would amount to a “whitewashing” of someone’s identity with the intention of committing the prohibited act again. However, everything depends on the individual evaluation of the team responsible for considering applications. If your claim is evaluated negatively, you can pursue your rights in court.
Finally, it is worth remembering again, Removing a particular website from search results does not mean removing the website itself, or even the part of it that contains sensitive information. If they are not removed by the website administrator, they will remain visible to visitors after navigating to a specific address.

A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
