CM Punk was fired by AEW

AEW has fired Chief Punk, a statement released this Saturday night announced.

Tony Khan’s promotion released a statement on social media saying that CM Punk had been fired following an internal investigation into the incident between the wrestler and Jack Perry, which All In. Confirmed by Tony Khan backstage at the arena.

In the same statement, Tony Khan says the decision to remove the chief minister was his and his alone. “Bill has played an important role in AEW and I thank him for his contribution. It was my decision, and mine alone, to terminate his contract with Reason. Frankly, I wish I didn’t have to share this information, which may be disappointing to many of our fans. However, every week makes AEW possible. I am taking this decision in the interests of many great people – our talents, our crews, our technicians and many others whose efforts are little-known but necessary to bring television and big shows to fans in stadiums and arenas around the world.

CM Punk is yet to comment on the sacking.
