On Monday, the ATP rankings were released, which takes into account the results obtained by tennis players during the 2023 US Open. There have been several changes in the world rankings. What is the status of Hubert Hurkacz?

The most significant change is the change at the top of the world rankings. Novak Djokovic has returned to the throne. On Sunday, the Serbian defeated Russian Daniel Medvedev in three sets and became the winner of the 2023 US Open Grand Slam (more here). And so, on Monday, he began the 390th week of his career as the world’s first striker.

Djokovic regained the lead

For winning in New York, Noll received 2,000 points because he did not compete last year. Thanks to this, he not only outperformed Carlos Alcaraz, but also gained a huge advantage over him. Carlitos is 3,260 points behind Djokovic. The Spaniard defended his title at the US Open, but was eliminated in the semi-finals.

Daniil Medvedev has consolidated his position on the lowest rung of the podium. The fourth is the Danish Ron Holger, and the fifth is the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. Russian Andrey Rublev advanced to sixth place. Norwegian Casper Ruud, who qualified for the US Open final last year, dropped from fifth place to ninth place. German Alexander Zverev occupies the top ten. Ben Shilton was in the top 10 for the first time in his career. After the semi-finals in New York, the American advanced to nineteenth place.

Minor upgrade for Hurkacz

Hubert Hurkacz won only one fight in the US International Championship. Thus, the Wroclaw player did not improve on last year’s result and maintained his points tally. Despite this, on Monday the Pole advanced from 17th to 16th. This happened because Briton Cameron Norrie, who was previously classified just ahead of our representative, lost points.

The second member of the white and red team, Kamil Majchrzak, is still suspended and cannot compete on professional fields. Piotrko’s population fell to 240th place on Monday. Daniel Michalski maintained his position at number 269. The next Poles on the list moved up. Kacper Żuk is the number 302 racket in the world. Max Kasnikowski is ranked 311, while Filip Bilyeu is ranked 358, and Martin Pawlowski is ranked 478.
