Hungarian mirror?  Stunning view captured by the Hubble Space Telescope

The Hubble Space Telescope has provided a very striking image of the starry sky. The object of observation was the globular cluster NGC 6638.

It is located in the constellation Sagittarius – as you can see below – densely packed with stars. Globular clusters are regions that contain thousands to millions of these objects. The highly experienced Hubble Space Telescope was used to immortalize them.

More precisely, there are two tools on board: the Wide Field Camera 3 and the Advanced Camera for Surveys. Hubble himself has made tremendous advances in the study of globular clusters. Distortions caused by Earth’s atmosphere make it nearly impossible to discern the stars there using ground-based telescopes.

The object of observation was the globular cluster NGC 6638 .

That is why Hubble’s role is so important, as it is located 550 kilometers above Earth and can study what stars make up globular clusters, how they evolve, and what role gravity plays in the functioning of these dense systems. Without obstruction by the Earth’s atmosphere, it is much easier to conduct such analyzes.

Of course, meanwhile, a new player has stepped in: the James Webb Space Telescope. And although his scientific mission didn’t even last a month, he actually provided images that will amaze you and revolutionize everything we know about the universe. By making infrared observations, astronomers will be able to better identify globular clusters.
