With 16 children for Christmas in Cuba

Christmas 2022 promises to be a memorable one for a blended family of 16 children flying to Cuba all-inclusive on December 20.

It was in the dark of the fifth wave a year ago that the idea for these holidays in Playa Pesquero was born, says Nancy Lefebvre of Saint-Lin-Laurentise.

“We said to ourselves, ‘No, we’re going to collect our money this year and next year we’re going to have Christmas in the South,'” says the mother of 14 biological children and her husband’s two, ranging in age from 2 to 22.

The seniors pitched in and helped pay for the ticket through their student work.

A total of thirty people will travel including friends and in-laws.

A unique opportunity

“This trip is very important for me. In my opinion, this is one of the last trips where all my children can be with me,” testifies M.me Lefebvre.

Going with the whole family is expensive, and it can be difficult to accommodate everyone’s schedule.

A fast-food restaurant staffed by four children needed a weekend off at the same time, amid a labor shortage…and finally found one, Mrs.me Lefebvre.

All that remains is to work out some details, such as the logistics of preparing the suitcases. “We are very excited,” says the mother.

His 40 Years Under the Sun

“Febrility” also describes Carolyn Milani’s feeling at Estrie very well.

On December 26, his 40th birthday, he will travel to Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba, with 25 family members and close friends.

“Because of the health restrictions, there’s really nothing left, so I decided to celebrate big with everyone. I called the shots to celebrate. Finally, 26 of us going together!”, says the Sherbrooke resident, who owns her home care business.

After two forgettable vacations, this one definitely stands out. “It’s a really long-loved Christmas,” he says.

“Christmas, for me, is very important. It’s a moment when everyone stops, we share together, we come together. For me, it’s very important that we are with family, with friends, my lifelong friends,” he explains.
