Venus was very similar to early Earth. New research shows this.

Venus and Earth are two very different planets. Our world is vibrant and friendly. However, our neighbor can be described as hellish, with temperatures exceeding 400 degrees Celsius. However, it turns out, and new research confirms, that both planets have a lot in common.

First of all, Venus is geologically different from Earth. It does not have the tectonics of our planet, including large areas of crust that can rub against each other. It is this feature that, among other things, influences the very different climate of the neighboring world.

On Venus It does not contain the continents that the Earth has, but there are areas called small trenches. That is, broad plateaus. Scientists previously suspected that they might exhibit some tectonic features, but their origin was shrouded in mystery.

Research conducted by scientists gave unexpected results. It turned out that a small juicer from Venus can They arise during processes very similar to those that occurred on Earth several billion years ago and led to the emergence of the early continents. This has been demonstrated by computer simulations conducted on data from the Ishtar Terra region, the largest plateau. This has led scientists to conclude that the formation process may have been similar to Earth’s cratons, which grow from the molten interior of the planet.

Scientists leave no doubt, and discoveries like this prove it. At the dawn of history, Venus and Earth had a lot in common. The two worlds evolved in different directions, but a few billion years ago the planets would have been very similar to each other.

Unfortunately, research on Venus is extremely difficult due to the conditions there. The enormous pressure, high temperatures, and thick clouds with toxic gases and acid rains do not help in collecting scientific data. We should get new information about our neighbor thanks to the DAVINCI and VERITAS missions planned by NASA.
