The developers placed great emphasis on the most complete experience possible – Rise of the Ronin is the studio’s biggest game. The fate of the main character will be influenced, to some extent, by personalities such as Ryoma Sakamoto and Shoen Yoshida, creators who sought to modernize the country at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate era.

As a title, Rise of the Ronin features Koei Tecmo’s distinct historical setting while also incorporating Team Ninja’s own brand of action and combat. “When creating our biggest game to date, we worked with the SIE team to create an experience that will allow players to fully assume the role of a ronin at the end of the Tokugawa era,” says Fumihiko Yasuda, Director and President of Team Ninja, in the PlayStation Blog.

The basic version of the game was priced at $69.99 (€79.99), while the digital deluxe edition costs $79.99 (€89.99). In addition to the pre-order bonus (Katana and Ninja armor, 4 unlockable fighting styles), customers can count on several extras, including a ninja staff, paired swords, warrior armor, Japanese uniforms, soundtrack, and a digital art book.
