Management at the Super C chain has launched an investigation into an employee who repeated the “n-word” in a viral video filmed this week at the Longueuil grocery store.

According to our information, the employee in this line is Christian Paris. The event was held at Super C, located on Boulevard Cousineau in the borough of Saint-Hubert.

“We have launched an investigation and our teams have been on the case throughout the day. Obviously, these comments do not reflect the values ​​of our company,” confirms magazine Genevieve Gregoire, Head of Communications, Metro.

Is the employee suspended?

According to the grocer, it is not known at this time whether the employee in the video has been suspended because the information is confidential.

“Right now we have few details, but know that we will take the appropriate steps,” said Mme Gregory.

The latter said the investigation was also aimed at understanding what led their employee to use the “N-word”. So the origin of the clash is still unknown, as is the identity of the person who recorded the footage.

However, towards the end of the 20-second video, we hear Christian Paris saying that he can't go to his “back shop”.

Note that this sequence quickly went viral on TikTok after being posted by the user “Keke Calixte”. As of Friday afternoon, it had received nearly 260,000 views.
