Oskar Tomczyk was one of four players expelled from the Polish under-17 national team during the World Cup in Indonesia due to an “alcohol scandal”. Apparently, the young striker's actions did not discourage potential buyers. The 17-year-old has just changed clubs and signed a long-term contract.
Oscar Tomczyk has changed club. Lech left Poznań for the First League
The Polish youth actor has been linked with a major transfer even before the transfer window began the border. Even Real Sociedad are said to be interested in signing him. Later, the media also talked about the possibility of Ślěsk Wrocław bringing him in.
Now we know that neither of the above clubs will have Tomczyk at home. The player decided that after the expiration of his contract at Lech Poznań, he would move to Wisa Bock, which was announced by the other club on Wednesday evening, January 10.
“Oscar Tomczyk is back in the colors of blue, white and blue! The 17-year-old striker has signed a contract with Visla Puk valid until June 30, 2026,” we read on the club's official website. The player trained at SSM in Płock from 2015 to 2020 and moved to the Lech Poznan academy. He even made his debut for Greater Poland, playing for Lech's reserve team in the Second League.
– I must admit that several people were involved in acquiring it, including from outside the athletic department. We are glad that we were able to convince such a talented competitor of our project and idea. He can give the coaching staff not only new attacking options, but also increased competition in the context of the young player's role, said Wisła sporting director Dariusz Stylka.
17-year-old Oscar Tomczyk has only played in the Under-19 Central Junior League this season, scoring two goals in three matches for Lech Poznań. It is hard to believe that he would be an immediate attacking boost for Viswa Bok, who sit seventh in the Premier League table.
